About Me

My name is Yuanze Luo and I’m a PhD candidate in astronomy and astrophysics at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). I’m studying galaxy evolution and black holes’ roles in galaxies with Drs. Kate Rowlands and Katherine Alatalo from Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI), and Prof. Timothy Heckman from JHU.

I obtained my Bachelor’s degrees in both astronomy and physics at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where I worked with Prof. Yue Shen and Prof. Tony Wong on quasars and gas in galaxies.

In the community of the Johns Hopkins Physics and Astronomy Graduate Students (PAGS) association, I'm currently serving the role of JHU-STScI liaison, who helps STScI scientists to recruit/reach JHU graduate students and organizes graduate student meetings with STScI-JHU colloquium speakers. You can find my ORCiD(0000-0002-0696-6952) and CV here.
